1. Manx National Heritage sites reopen
Visit historic attractions such as Castle Rushen and The Great Laxey Wheel; or explore coastal, countryside and ancient monuments like The Ayres and its’ nature reserve or St. Michael’s Isle, otherwise known as Fort Island. Experience fine dining at The Abbey Restaurant or enjoy a morning coffee overlooking The Calf of Man and the Sound at the Sound Café.
All sites reopen from the 1st April 2023.

2. Isle of Man Heritage Railways reopen
Take a trip back in time and explore the island on its’ heritage railway networks. Take the Steam Railway south and village-hop your way around; or head north to Laxey, Ramsey and even the Snaefell summit on the Manx Electric and Snaefell Mountain Railways!
2023 is an historic year for the island’s railways. The Manx Electric Railway celebrates 130 years in service while the Steam Railway enters its 150th year. Read more here.

3. Cheaper Travel
The Irish Sea must be crossed to visit the Isle of Man, one of the island’s charming factors that must be considered when planning a trip.
There are cost-effective and convenient ways of circumnavigating this challenge. At the time of writing, EasyJet have one way air fares to the Isle of Man available for as low as £23 from the following cities:
- Manchester – flights available everyday
- Liverpool – flights available everyday
- Bristol – flights available Mondays and Fridays
- London Gatwick – flights available everyday
- Belfast International Airport – flights available Mondays and Fridays, and Wednesdays in March
The Isle of Man Steam Packet offers return sailings for foot passengers from Liverpool*, Dublin**, Belfast*** and Heysham from £46.
*Liverpool sailings begin on 31st March 2023.
**Dublin sailings begin 6th April 2023 and run every Thursday
***Belfast sailings begin 5th April 2023 and run on Wednesdays and Sundays

4. The warmer days
The climate is milder Spring, making it a great time to explore the island before summer. Sunny days mix with cooler days, and there are plenty of things to do and see no matter the weather.

The Isle of Man is a place to explore at your own pace, and spring is the ideal time to do so. Enjoy the calm before the storm that summer brings.
On spring days the popular sites and attractions will be quieter, especially if on a weekday outside of the Easter school holidays!
